This 12-day Kyirong- Mt Kailash Kora Pilgrimage group tour is for travelers who'd like to have three days trekking around Mt.Kailash and an overland tour from Kathmandu. This tour starts from Kyirong, you will drive to the west of Tibet, Ngari, via  Saga. When you arrive in Darchen, you will start three days Mt Kailash Kora from here. The altitude would be 4700m. Your three days of trekking would be at this altitude, more or less 100m around. After that, you will drive to the Lhasa

Day 1

Arrival in Kyirong til .

After breakfast, we will travel approximately 15km to reach the Chinese border. Once in China, you will meet our guide who will accompany us on a 1-hour drive to Kyirong (2800m), nestled amidst towering snow-capped peaks and verdant forests.

Day 2

 Drive from Kyirong to Saga County (200km, 4-5hrs) (B)

After enjoying breakfast, we embark on a 250km (4500m) journey to Saga. Along the way, you will be treated to stunning views of iconic landmarks such as Mt. Shishapangma (the world's 14th highest peak) and the picturesque Turquoise Lake Peiku tso (standing at an impressive altitude of 4590m). Keep your eyes peeled as you may also be fortunate enough to catch glimpses of rare wildlife such as wild donkeys and antelopes.

Day 3

Saga to Lake Manasarover 4500m (450km) (B)

En route to Lake Manasarover, you will be mesmerized by the breathtaking vista of the Saga valley nestled between the stunning Gangdise and Himalaya mountain ranges. Additionally, you will catch sight of verdant grasslands and quaint local settlements. Upon crossing the Mayomla Pass (5112m), you will be greeted by the awe-inspiring sight of Mt. Naimonanyi (7694m). Ultimately, our journey leads us to the holy Lake Manasarover, revered as one of Tibet's most sacred lakes. Today is a particularly auspicious day, as it marks the first glimpse of Holy Manasarovar and a panoramic view of Mt. Kailash from the Horchu Pass.

Day 4

Lake Manasarovar to Darchen (30km,B)

Today, we will be spending the majority of the day at the enchanting Lake Manasarovar. You will have the opportunity to take a leisurely stroll along the shores of the lake and explore the impressive monasteries in the vicinity.

This visit will also hold a special significance for devout Hindus and Buddhists, who will be able to achieve a lifetime-goal by visiting the divine abode. They can partake in rituals such as Puja, Havana worship, meditation, and a holy bath. As the day progresses, we will embark on a drive to Darchen later in the afternoon.

Day 5

Kailash Kora Darchen to Diraphuk Monastery 18km, driving & trekking

In the morning, we will embark on our eco-bus journey from Darchen to Sarshung valley. Once we arrive, we will meet our trusted Yaks and porters in Sarshung village.

Please note that hiring these animals and carrying assistants are not included in the package.

After we have gathered our team, we will start our approximately 13km trek from Sarshung to Drirapuk Monastery via the beautiful Lachu valley and rivers. This route will provide you with incredible views of both the west and north face of the magnificent Mount Kailash.

Finally, our journey will conclude with a visit to the Drirapuk Monastery, leaving you with cherished memories.

Day 6

Drirapuk-Dzutrpuk (Trek 18km)

Today's trek will take us to the highest point of the Kora - the Dromala pass (5630m). En route, you can stop for a break at a cozy teahouse. Throughout the journey, you will witness the awe-inspiring sight of local Tibetans performing prostrations along the Kora path and the stunning Kadoe Lake, as you make your way downhill. Additionally, we will have an opportunity to explore the culturally-rich Zutulpuk Monastery.

Day 7

Zuthulphuk to Darchen, end the Kora. Drive to Saga(Dongba)(B)

After having breakfast, we will set off on an 8 km trek to reach the designated point where a bus will be waiting to take us to Darchen, marking the end of the Parikarma (Circuit). After lunch, our expedition will continuely drive towards Saga or Dongba while passing by Lake Manasarovar, allowing another opportunity to admire its beauty.

Day 8

Saga to Shigatse (430km, 9 hrs) 

Today, we will drive from saga to Shigatse. On the way, you will through  many passes before in Lhatse. After your arrival in Shigatse in the early afternoon, you will visit the seat of Panchen Lama - Tashilunpo Monastery, one of the most important monasteries in Tibet.

Day 9

Shigatse to Lhasa via Gyantse (375km) 

Today, we will drive to Lhasa via Gyantse. On the way you can see many Tibetan farmer villages. After arriving in Gyantse, you will visit Heritage town Gyantse old street and Perklor Monastery, Kumbum stupa. Then you will also visit Manak Dam Lake, Korola Glacier and Yamdrok Lake on the way to Lhasa.

Day 10

Lhasa Tour - Potala Palace, Johkang Temple, and Barkhor Street

 Today's tour will first bring you to the Potala Palace which is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. It was put to use since the 7th Century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.

Then after lunch, tourists head to Jokhang temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Outside, you can see pilgrims making prostrating in front of Jokhang Temple. Around the temple is Barkhor street, where you can do kora (a religious circle of a building or mountain) with pilgrims and locals, and explore the old market.Besides, We can taste Tibetan tea with locals in the tea house.

Day 11

Lhasa Tour 

Dadong Village and Sera Monastery In the morning, you are going to visit Dadong Village, the most beautiful village in Lhasa. Located 25 kilometers southwest of Lhasa downtown, Dadong Village is a well-protected ancient Tibetan village that surrounded by valleys. After arriving, you will visit the Nyimatang Monastery (built in the 11th century), take a light walk in the village, and see what rural life in Lhasa is like. You will also visit a local Tibetan family and enjoy the lunch offered by the family.

In the Afternoon, Tourists will visit Sera Monastery which is another one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet. The hot attraction is the Monks debating in the courtyard of SeraMonastery. In addition, you will see colorful rock painting of Buddha and see the three sand Mandalas in Sera Monastery. After that, you will visit Tibetan religious text printing house.

In the evening, you will enjoy the Farewell dinner well-prepared by us.

The guide will transfer you to the airport or train station and help you get on board.
